Art and Design Courses

If you have a passion for games and animation, our new programme will provide you with an opportunity to realise your creativity and begin your journey in the games design industry. You will explore your creative potential in a hands on environment using industry software and hardware in our purpose built Mac suites giving you the best possible start to this growing industry.

  • About the Course

    You will work in our new multimedia suites, gaining experience in 3d modelling, level design and 2D animation. Using industry standard software including Maya, Unity and Adobe Animate, you will create fantastic environments and beautiful animations. The course will give you a taste of many aspects of game development and animation, using many techniques from hand drawn through to stop motion.

    This flexible approach enables you to explore and develop a solid foundation of skills to shape a career in game design, animation, VFX and the wider creative industries. You will use the college's extensive range of specialised equipment, and your student learning adviser will guide and support you throughout your course.

  • Entry Requirements
    2 or more GCSEs at grade D / grade 3 or above or successful completion of a Level 1 course with functional skills in English and maths. We will ask to see a portfolio of your work when you come for your interview.   • Progression

    Progress to the Level 3 Animation and Games Design or with a quality portfolio it could lead to junior positions in the creative industries.
