West Thames College

Careers Advice and Guidance

Our Careers and Connexions advisers, based in the student common room areas at both the Isleworth and Feltham Skills Centre campuses, are here to help -giving you impartial advice, from before you start your course until you leave the college.

Which course is right for you?

If you've looked through our courses and you're not sure which one is right for you, or you're not sure if you've got the right entry requirements, we can help. You can either:

  • Call us on 020 8326 2020 for advice, or to arrange a Guidance Interview.
  • Email us: CIAG@west-thames.ac.uk
  • Drop-in to see us at the college - Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm (evening appointments are available on request).

Changing your course after enrolment

We will always try to make sure a course is suitable for you before you enrol. However, if you feel after a few weeks that you are on the wrong course, for whatever reason, don't worry. Come and see us and we'll try to find an alternative course for you - either at West Thames College or another college or training provider.

Helping you with your next step

If you want to progress onto another higher level course after you have finished your current course - either at West Thames College or another college -  come and see us for advice.

West Thames College also holds a Next Step Fair each year for existing students to find out more about the other courses on offer at the college.

Helping you apply to university

If you want to progress on to university after your course, we can give you advice and help you apply online through UCAS.

We also hold a Higher Education [HND, Foundation Degree or BA Hons Degree - i.e. university level qualifications at Level 4 and higher.] Information Evening each year with guest speakers from local universities which you and your parents can attend.

Helping you apply for a job

If you are looking for a job after you finish your course, or looking for a part-time whilst you are studying, we can help you develop your CV and prepare for interviews.
