The course will be delivered through a series of lectures, seminars, presentations, independent study and tutorials.
For the Level 4 Higher National Certificate, you must achieve a minimum of 120 credits in your programme (of which at least 65 must be at level 4). To be awarded the Level 5 Higher National Diploma, you must achieve a minimum of 240 credits (of which at least 125 must be at level 5).
You are expected to complete at least 200 hours of work based experience during the course, which can be in the form of paid or voluntary work. You will be assisted if you need help finding a work placement.
You may wish to go on to the Higher National Diploma (HND). Depending on the specialist units undertaken, this qualification can lead to work in health care such as GP practice manager, hospital admin staff or care home managers; or in social care such as youth work, community project workers or managers, complementary therapist or young offenders team worker.
You should be aged 18 or over and have a Level 3 qualification and experience in a health and social care environment. If you have not achieved GCSE Maths and English at grade C / grade 5 or above, you will be asked to retake Maths and/or English qualifications alongside your HE programme.
