- Who is This Course For?
- This is a very intensive course and is aimed at students who wish to make a career change.
- Entry Requirements
- You should have a good general educational background. Good written English is essential and a qualification in biology is an advantage. You must be highly motivated and able to practice your treatments at home. We recommend that you spend at least 4 hours of home study per week in order to successfully achieve this qualification.
- About the course
You will study the following subjects:
- Facial treatments, including cleanse, tone, massage and masks
- Selecting appropriate products for skin care
- Skin diseases and disorders
- Lash and brow tinting and perming
- Light beauty makeup
- Manicure and pedicure including specialised hand and foot treatments
- Waxing
- Related anatomy and physiology, including bones, muscles, the cell, the circulatory system, the lymphatic system, the nails and hair
- Tanning treatments
- Professional conduct and health and safety.
You will be taught by practising professional tutors who specialise in beauty therapy. Your tutor will monitor your progress throughout the year and deal with any problems that arise.
In addition to the course fee, registration fee, and exam fees, you will also need to purchase a beauty kit (approx £250) and pay a materials charge of approx £100.
- How will I be assessed?
You will be continually assessed throughout the year through written and practical assessments, plus three externally set multiple choice test papers.
