Who is This Course For?

This is an intensive course for beauty therapists working in the industry who wish to offer this additional popular service to their clients.

Entry Requirements

You must hold a recognised qualification in manicure and business awareness and you should have a good educational background. Good written English is essential in order to complete assignments and the theory test. You must be highly motivated and able to practice your treatments at home. We recommend that you spend at least 3 hours of home study per week in order to successfully achieve this qualification.

About the course

You will study the practical application of artificial nails and related theory.

In addition to the course fee, you will need to purchase a nail technology kit, a textbook (approx £100), and a professional beauty uniform and shoes (approx £60). These costs may be subject to change.

Additional Opportunities

You will have the opportunity to visit a major beauty and nails exhibition and trade fair held annually in London. This will incur an additional cost.

How will I be assessed?

You will be assessed by means of the following:

• Assignments. You will need to complete a range of assignments at home which will be handed to your tutor for marking.
• Test. Multiple choice theory test.
• Practical assessments. You will need to perform a range of artificial nail services for assessment.

Where next?

When you successfully complete this course you may go on to other part time or full time beauty therapy and hairdressing courses at West Thames College, into employment in a nail salon, or become self-employed.
