Accounting Advanced Diploma Level 4

The Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) is the only professional body to offer Diplomas in accounting. We offer the foundation, intermediate and advanced stages of the AAT qualifications which are based on nationally agreed standards of competence. This new AAT qualification is appropriate for those who have completed AAT Levels 2 and 3 and also for students who have previously achieved NVQ or Diploma pathway qualifications. Successful completion of this final level of the AAT accountancy qualification programme will lead to full membership of the AAT.

Who is This Course For?

Practising accountants who wish to gain a full professional qualification and enhance their career prospects within the accountancy sector.

Entry Requirements

You must hold the AAT Level 3 full qualification prior to starting this course and be currently registered with AAT. You should also preferably be working in an appropriate accounting environment.

About the course

Through a combination of lectures, practical workshops and seminars, you will study:

Four mandatory units:

  • Financial statements
  • Budgeting
  • Financial performance
  • Internal control and accounting systems. 

Two of the following option units:

  • Credit management and control
  • Personal tax
  • Business tax
  • External auditing.
How will I be assessed?

The course is assessed by computer based assessments or by case study/project.

Where next?

Possible employment routes when you complete this course include as a finance team leader or finance officer. If you wish to continue your studies, you may be able to gain entry to ACCA or CIMA qualifications.
