National Scholarship Programme

From September 2013, as part of the National Scholarship Programme, West Thames College will be offering twelve Higher Education [HND, Foundation Degree or BA Hons Degree - i.e. university level qualifications at Level 4 and higher.] students scholarships worth £3,000 each to help pay towards their first year fees for 2013-14.

Six scholarships will be awarded to students progressing from a Level 3 course at West Thames College. The other six scholarships will be awarded to new students joining the college for the first time in September 2013.

Please note that payments will be made at the start of March 2014.

Eligibility

To be eligible, students must have a household income of less than £25,000.

For Progressing West Thames College Students
We will take into consideration:

• Your attendance (90% minimum)
• Progression on your programme
• Your contribution to the college and local community
• Your involvement in vocational and/or employment activities
• A reference and/or testimonial from your tutor.

For New Students
We are keen to support and encourage applications from:

• Students who have previously benefitted from the EMA or similar
• First generation higher education [HND, Foundation Degree or BA Hons Degree - i.e. university level qualifications at Level 4 and higher.] applicants
• ESOL [English for speakers of other languages] students, particularly refugees
• Students with learning difficulties and disabilities
• Students from ethnic minority groups.
