London West Colleges is a partnership of seven Further Education colleges based in the west London area. We are committed to employing more black and ethnic minority teachers, managers, and support staff. We work closely with the Network for Black Professionals and share their aim of nurturing a workforce which reflects our student body and Britain today.
Whatever you are doing now, there is likely to be an opportunity for you at a Further Education college or Sixth Form college in west London.
Around half the jobs in colleges are in teaching, while the other half are in roles including administration, support and advice, management, estates and domestic support, finance, marketing and human resources.
If you want to become a teacher but do not have a teaching qualification or experience, there are opportunities to train while working. Successful applicants will get free training in a recognised qualification, while they earn.
There is also support and training available in non-teaching roles, either working with students or behind the scenes.
Above all, Further Education is one of the most rewarding sectors to work in.

Student Learning Adviser for Construction
“After finishing the Level 2 in teacher training, I wanted a course that would challenge me on a new level. Through the college, I enrolled on the BME (Black and Minority Ethnic) First Steps to Leadership course. I now have confidence in my ability to handle a management role and clarity for the future."
