24 November 2009
On Tuesday 24 November, five groups of National Diploma Business students took part in the ‘Make Your Mark Challenge’ as part of the college’s Enterprise Week activities.
The students were given a brief to come up with a product or service that was innovative and original and had just five hours to complete their design. The teams had to conduct market research on their idea, develop a business plan and a break-even chart and deliver a presentation to a panel of judges, all within the time limit. The ideas presented included a computer game for the 2012 Olympics, 2012 themed chocolates and an organic cereal bar.
The winning team, Twinkle Toes, pitched the idea of selling folding shoes in night club vending machines. Party-goers with sore feet would be able to kick off their high heels and slip into a pair of flat comfortable shoes for instant relief! The winning team members all received new iPod shuffles as their prize.
