West Thames College’s Creative Arts Festival 2012 began on Wednesday 6 June with an eye-catching costume exhibition from the second year Foundation Degree students.
Held in the Endeavour Theatre, the promenade style show featured handmade costumes based on themes chosen by each student. These included Arabian Nights, the Corpse Bride and The Picture of Dorian Gray.
Performing Arts curriculum leader, Tina Hurley was delighted with the performance. “All the students and staff involved put so much effort in to making the night such a success,” she said. “The external examiner was very impressed with the standard of costume design and making as well as the very ambitious performances to display the chosen themes.”
The show marked the beginning of a ten-day festival of Creative Arts across the college.
