Competing to Illuminate Blackpool

On Thursday 14 January, Hairdressing and Makeup students competed for a chance to showcase their skills at two major industry championships. The talented National Diploma students entered one of five categories from Catwalk, Face Painting, Body Painting, Creative Bride and Avant-Garde, completing their incredible designs in just three hours.
Nine successful competitors from the contest are now poised to compete in either the AHT Blackpool Winter Gardens Hair Festival on March 21-22, or the National Hairdressing Federation (NHF) International Hairdressing Championships, held in Blackpool on the same weekend.
Specialist Makeup lecturer Tarron Pearson was overjoyed with the results. “The standard of work was amazing,” she said. “Each student worked very hard and produced some brilliant, original, and creative designs which made the judging extremely difficult. They should all be very proud.”
Prizes for the winners included professional makeup tools and gift vouchers from sponsors including Charles Fox and Mac Makeup.
