BTEC Level 3 is a vocational qualification that will help you to develop practical knowledge, understanding and skills required to work in the business sector. The course is designed for students who aim to progress to the second year and gain a BTEC Extended Diploma in Business, higher education and ultimately employment in the business sector.
Students progressing onto the second year Extended Diploma will choose either an Accounting or Marketing pathway and attain a qualification equivalent to three A Levels.
This course is for those applying for Business, Business & Accounting or Business & Marketing courses.

About the Course
This qualification provides the knowledge, understanding and employable skills that allow learners to gain business sector experience that will prepare them for further study or training.
The learning programme covers the following core areas in Year 1 followed by either Accounting related units such as Financial Accounting and Management Accounting, or Marketing related units such as Creative Product Promotion and Market Research in Year 2.

Learners must complete and achieve all these units to be eligible for progression to the Extended Diploma in Business (Year 2).

Entry Requirements
4 or more GCSEs at grades A*-C / grades 9-4 (including Maths and English Language), or BTEC Level 2 at merit or above with Functional Skills in English and Maths.

Students could progress to the second year Extended Diploma in Business, higher education in business, marketing, accounting, finance or ultimately to employment in the business sector.

All units are assessed internally through course work, practical tasks and role play.
