An employer set project which covers:

  • Analysing a problem to define requirements and acceptance criteria aligned to user needs designing, implementing, and testing software.
  • Changing, maintaining and supporting software.

  • Discovering, evaluating, and applying reliable sources of knowledge.
  • Applying ethical principles and managing risks in line with legal and regulatory requirements when developing software.

You will also develop your broader skills in literacy and numeracy. In addition, you will develop transferable technical and practical skills in communication (working with colleagues, customers, and clients), research and project work.

  • About the Course

    Our new Digital Production, Design and Development T-Level starts in September!

    This is a new two-year full-time course designed in collaboration with employers, suitable for post-16 students looking to develop both knowledge and practical skills in the health sector.

    The T-Level in Health is designed to give you the knowledge and understanding of contexts, concepts, theories and principles relevant to the Health sector.

    This course focuses on the digital industry and aims to give you the essential knowledge, understanding and skills relevant to any digital occupation.

    You will learn the essentials behind all digital roles by understanding data and digital systems, how software and business interact, security, testing, planning and legal issues. You then build on this by developing specialist skills in understanding user needs and designing and developing digital systems.

    What are T-Levels?

    • An alternative to A levels, apprenticeships and other 16 to 19 courses.
    • A qualification equivalent to three A Levels carry UCAS points for progression into Higher Education, and prepares students for apprenticeship and employment.
    • Routes for students into skilled employment, higher study or apprenticeships.
    • An in-depth industry placement that lasts at least 45 days. Students get valuable experience in the workplace; employers get early sight of the new talent in their industry.

    How does it work?

    • You will spend 80% of the course in your learning environment, gaining the skills that employers need.
    • The other 20% is a meaningful industry placement, where you put your learnt skills into action.
  • Entry Requirements

    Four Grade 4-9s at GCSE, including a minimum of Grade 4 in GCSE Maths. Students who completed BTEC level 2 at a distinction level with GCSE maths grade 4 can also apply.

  • Progression
    On completion of the programme learners can progress to University, high skill employment in the area of Software Development, Hardware and Network Technician, Web Designer, IT Business Analyst and Games Developer or apprenticeship.
  • Assessment Method
    Coursework and Exams. The core component will be assessed by two exams and an employer-set project.
