Travel and Tourism Courses

Galileo is the world's most widely used computerised reservation system (GDS). It is used by travel agents and airlines worldwide to make instant -reservations for flights, car hire and hotels. This part-time proficiency course is held 1 evening per week for 12 weeks and leads to a GDS qualification, which is essential for those who want to work in the airline industry. The course is held on Wednesday evenings from 6-9pm for 12 weeks.

  • About the Course

The course uses a computer based learning package. Your tutor will introduce you to Galileo and what can be done with it. You will then be able to work at your own speed. This programme uses real examples from airlines and airports around the world and consists of introductions to a subject, exercises and mini tests.

You will use learning materials, both on-line and hard copy. Tutors are present throughout each session to provide help when required and to ensure that you progress satisfactorily. Your tutors have experience in the field of travel. If something new appears on your screen they will use real examples to explain how and why the system works. The review sessions on the screen allow you to see just how well you are doing.
