The purpose of the post:
1. To develop a vision and provide the leadership and management to ensure that the curriculum is up to date, innovative, and relevant, and meets the progression needs of students into further or higher education or work.
2. To provide the leadership and management for excellent teaching and learning which enables every student to succeed.
3. To create a culture within the department and College where learning is purposeful and fun, and staff and students contribute to and participate in this culture.
4. To build and lead a team of Curriculum and Quality Team Managers, supporting them in their quality improvement, curriculum planning and development, and staff and student management and development roles.
5 .To be an active member of the College’s Senior and College Management Teams, working with others to set objectives for growth and development and to make best use of resources and contribute to positioning the department and the College as a recognised centre of excellence.
6 .To make an effective contribution to quality improvement through being the strategic lead for English, Maths and ESOL.

Overall purpose of the job:
1. Working closely with key stakeholders, develop a vision for the continued development of IT Services and the Print Room, and provide leadership and management to the teams managed to realise the vision.
2. Ensure that an efficient and effective digital infrastructure is provided, meeting the operational requirements of the business, with maximum availability and speed of response in line with College policies and strategic objectives.
3. Create a culture within the team and College, ensuring this develops the College’s Information, Communications and Print systems in a responsive way.
4. Provide a responsive service to a range of users, including students, staff (curriculum and support), governors and visitors.
5. Champion a customer focused service approach.

The purpose of the post is: to develop and deliver the college-wide programme developing employability skills and other soft skills. This includes the delivery of proactive and inspiring skill sessions, work-related activities and engagement with employers that help students prepare for work experience and reflect meaningfully on their skills, experiences and future choices.
To source, manage and implement work experience and work placements for students to gain practical skills in safe, relevant and realistic work settings and enable them to prepare for life after college and entry into the workforce.
