The course combines practical construction training with continued development of English, Maths and employability skills in a supportive learning environment.
You will gain hands-on experience in a range of construction trades while building the confidence and skills needed for further study or employment.

About the Course
This is an introductory construction qualification designed for people starting out in the building trades. You will study practical hands-on skills and basic construction knowledge.
Topics can include:
- Health & Safety in Construction (mandatory)
- Bricklaying
- Painting and Decorating
- Carpentry and Woodworking
- Basic Plumbing
- Building Maintenance
- Using construction tools and equipment
- Preparing for work in construction
Students will take part in practical workshop sessions and classroom activities designed to develop industry knowledge and work-ready skills.
You will also continue to develop your:
- English language skills
- Communication skills
- Maths skills
- Teamwork and employability skills

Entry Requirements
You should have:
- A pass at ESOL Entry 3 or equivalent
All applicants will complete:
- An initial assessment
- An interview

If you successfully complete all units, including your Maths and English, you can progress onto:
- A Level 2 Construction course
- Apprenticeships
