This is a theory based course for school leavers who are looking for an introduction into key areas of the aviation industry. You will learn about the UK's aviation industry and explore different job roles at the airport. You will also study three mandatory units such as Health and Safety within Aviation, Aviation Security and Aviation Communication. The course is equivalent to 4 GCSEs at A*-C and provides a good basis for further qualifications.

About the Course
The course will encourage you to develop the skills and essential know-how required for today's rapidly expanding world of aviation. You will have the opportunity to develop both general and specialist skills. You will complete projects and assignments based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands.
You will study:
- Health and safety in the aviation industry
- Aviation security
- Aviation communication
- Airport check in services
- Support flight operations
You will also complete the NCFE Level 2 course in Cabin Crew where you will be taught the practical skills and essential know how required to work as Cabin Crew.

Entry Requirements
Applicants for level 2 - intermediate courses should have at least two GCSEs at grade 3 or above or equivalent and/or a pass in a relevant Level 1 qualification, or relevant experience for mature applicants.
Next move - Progress onto a relevant level 3 advanced course or onto an Apprenticeship or into employment.

Progression
BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Aviation Operations or Travel and Tourism if you achieve a high grade, or find work in the appropriate sector.

Assessment Method
Most units are assessed via assignments which are individually graded. An overall grade for the qualification is awarded.
