This course is designed for young people with an EHCP or diagnosed support need that have few or no formal qualifications.
The Level 1 course offers an introduction to a variety of skills within ICT in which you will gain skills and knowledge regarding in ICT and digital technology.

About the Course
You will study:
You will learn about the basic principles of computer programming to understand how programming works. You will develop graphic-based programming skills to design and develop their own computer program. You will also learn about cybercrime/cybersecurity, and understand routine protective methods used to maintain cybersecurity including the principles of vulnerability and penetration testing and user access control.In addition to this course you will work towards an English and Maths qualification.

Entry Requirements
There are four pathways into our Level 1 Foundation Courses, which are ICT, Sport, Health and Care, and Creative Art. All applicants should have either an EHCP (Education, Health, and Care Plan) or a formally diagnosed need before applying for this course. Progression
If you successfully complete all the modules you can progress to the BTEC Level 2 T-Level Foundation Year or Level 2 Gateway Diploma in Digital and IT Skills.

Assessment Method
For each unit you will be expected to complete a number of assignments. Each assignment will be internally assessed by your teachers and externally verified by the awarding body.
