The Pearson BTEC Level 1 Introductory Award in Vocational Studies are designed around practical skills and tasks that place an emphasis on students demonstrating what they can do rather than what they know in theory. The qualifications give students the opportunity to acquire and develop generic, transferable and sector-specific skills in order to complete tasks and demonstrate a level of achievement that enables them to progress to further learning.

- A thorough introduction to your specific chosen course subject, and an introductory vocational qualification
- Working towards progression to level 2 courses, or supported internships, or employment.

About the Course
You will study:
You will learn about the basic principles of computer programming to understand how programming works. You will develop graphic-based programming skills to design and develop their own computer program. You will also learn about cybercrime/cybersecurity, and understand routine protective methods used to maintain cybersecurity including the principles of vulnerability and penetration testing and user access control.In addition to this course you will work towards an English and Maths qualification.

Entry Requirements
There are two pathways into our Level 1 ESOL Courses, which are ICT and Business. You need to have achieved ESOL at E3 to apply for this course. Progression
If you successfully complete all the modules you can progress to the BTEC Level 2 T-Level Foundation Year or Level 2 Gateway Diploma in Digital and IT Skills.

Assessment Method
For each unit you will be expected to complete a number of assignments. Each assignment will be internally assessed by your teachers and externally verified by the awarding body.
