This course is held at the Skills + Logistics Centre in Feltham and covers all aspects of painting and decorating including preparing surfaces, working efficiently, applying wallpapers and basic specialist paint finishes. The course includes trips and visits and provides a good basis for further study or to start work.

You will study:
- Storage of materials and equipment
- Erecting and dismantling basic working platforms
- Working efficiently
- Preparing the work area for operations
- Preparing surfaces for decoration
- Applying paint materials by brush and roller
- Applying standard wallpapers to non-complex areas
- Applying basic specialist paint finishes.

Entry Requirements
Applicants for level 2 - intermediate courses should have at least two GCSEs at grade 3 or above or equivalent and/or a pass in a relevant Level 1 qualification, or relevant experience for mature applicants.
Next move - Progress onto a relevant level 3 advanced course or onto an Apprenticeship or into employment.

Assessment Method
The course is assessed through a combination of practical projects, written assignments and written tests. You will also have to complete a phase test and two multi-choice papers and provide work-based evidence.
