This course will cover knowledge in three core subject areas:
- Health, safety and welfare
- Technical information, quantities and communication
- Construction industry and built environment.
You will also learn key practical skills and knowledge in:
- First fixing operations
- Second fixing operations
- Set up and operate cutting and shaping machinery
- Erect complex structural carcassing components
- Maintain non-structural and structural components.

About the Course
This qualification is for those individuals who work or want to work as a Site Carpenter in the construction sector.

Entry Requirements
Applicants for level 3 - advanced courses should have at least four GCSEs at grade A*-C/9-4, including at least one in GCSE English or maths at grade 4 or above, or a relevant level 2 vocational qualification, at merit or distinction (where grades are awarded).
Next move - Higher education at college or university or a job.

Progression
On completion of this qualification you will have obtained the skills, knowledge and understanding to progress on to a higher level supervisory or management qualifications e.g. Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision or progress into employment in their chosen trade.

Assessment Method
Assessment will include on-site assessments of your practical installation skills, computer based multi question exams and workshop assessment.
