This practical foundation course is designed for 16-18 year olds passionate about performing arts. Equivalent to 4 GCSEs (grades A–C), it offers a hands-on experience focused on acting, devising original performances, and production skills. Over the year, you will build confidence and develop your abilities through both individual and group work, culminating in a final major project performed in our Endeavour Theatre.
Alongside practical work, you'll benefit from specialist workshops led by industry professionals and enrichment activities that broaden your creative horizons. This supportive environment encourages collaboration and creativity, essential skills for a successful career in the arts.

Progression
This Level 2 Diploma lays the groundwork for further study. Upon achieving a Merit or Distinction, you can progress to the Level 3 Extended Diploma in Performing Arts or Dance. As an introductory qualification, this course is designed to prepare you for higher-level training rather than direct entry into professional performance roles.

Assessment Method
Assessment is ongoing throughout the course. You'll showcase your progress through live practical performances and by uploading creative work to an online blog platform. This lets you document your artistic process and reflect on your growth. Written tasks also complement your practical work. Your grades will be awarded as Pass, Merit, or Distinction, with successful completion of all units required to achieve the Level 2 Diploma.
