The industry has a market value of more than £5 billion, creating many employment opportunities for individuals with industry-recognised health and fitness qualifications.
This suite of qualifications includes embedded industry accreditation, enabling learners to progress directly into employment within the sector or to further study.
The content of this qualification has been developed in consultation with employers and professional bodies. This ensures that it remains appropriate and aligned with current industry practice, supporting learners to enter direct employment in the health and fitness sector. Higher education institutions have also been consulted to confirm that the qualification provides appropriate progression routes for those aspiring to higher-level study.
The qualification develops the knowledge, skills, and practical application required for professional accreditation with the Register of Exercise Professionals (REPs) and the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity (CIMSPA) Gym Instructor standards.
