This is a new two-year full-time course designed in collaboration with employers, suitable for post-16 students looking to develop both knowledge and practical skills in the health sector. The T-Level in Health is designed to give you the knowledge and understanding of contexts, concepts, theories and principles relevant to the Health sector.
The qualification will enable you to develop Health sector professional competencies, and apply the knowledge and skills you learn in a variety of contexts and for a variety of different purposes within the Health sector.
What are T-Levels?
- An alternative to A levels, apprenticeships and other 16 to 19 courses.
- A qualification equivalent to three A Levels carry UCAS points for progression into Higher Education, and prepares students for apprenticeship and employment.
- Routes for students into skilled employment, higher study or apprenticeships.
- An in-depth industry placement that lasts at least 45 days. Students get valuable experience in the workplace; employers get early sight of the new talent in their industry.
How does it work?
- You will spend 80% of the course in your learning environment, gaining the skills that employers need.
- The other 20% is a meaningful industry placement, where you put your learnt skills into action.

The T-Level in Health is designed to give you the knowledge and understanding of contexts, concepts, theories and principles relevant to the Health Care sector in roles such as roles such as a support worker or senior healthcare support worker, or to a healthcare apprenticeship, or to further studies in the health care sector
What are T levels (Health) and how does it work
This T Level qualification has been developed in collaboration with employers, so the content meets the needs of industry and prepares you for work. It will provide the knowledge and experience needed to open the door to skilled employment, an apprenticeship or higher-level study.

The Technical Qualification is the main classroom-based element of the T Level. During your two-year course, you will learn the core knowledge that underpins the Science sector, and you will also develop occupationally specific skills that will allow you to enter skilled employment within a specific occupation.
Industry placement of at least 45 days to apply the knowledge, skills and behaviours required in the Science sector.

The Core Component provides a broad understanding of the healthcare industry and covers the following nine topics:
- The healthcare sector
- Health, safety and environmental regulations in the health sector
- Managing personal information and data within the health sector
- Good scientific and clinical practice
- Providing person- centred care
- Health and wellbeing
- Safeguarding
- Core science concepts
- Further science concepts in health
Year 2: Occupational Specialism
- Supporting Healthcare
- Supporting the Adult Nursing Team (Occupational Specialism- Year 2)

At least 5 GCSE 9-4 including Maths, Science and English

Progression
On successful completion of the Science T-level you may go onto the following;
Skilled employment: Community support worker, Maternity support worker, Mental health support worker, Support Worker, Senior healthcare support worker, Rehabilitation Worker
Higher Technical Qualification (HTQ): BTEC Higher Nationals in Health and Social Care Practice or BTEC Higher Nationals in Healthcare Professions' Support
Degree related programmes: Adult Nursing, Child Nursing, Mental Health Nursing, Midwifery

Assessment Method
In year 1- The Core Component will be assessed by two examinations and an Employer Set Project.
Year 2- The occupational specialism is assessed by synoptic assessments comprising task-based assignments, as outlined below:
- Assignment 1 - (case study assessment (CSA))
- Assignment 2- (practical activity assessment (PAA) core)
- Assignment 2 - (practical activity assessment (PAA) option)
- Assignment 3- (professional discussion assessment (PDA))
