This two year course is equivalent to 3 A levels is designed to provide students with the knowledge, understanding and skills required to develop competence as a social care worker in a range of social care support settings.
You will develop the knowledge and skills needed when working in social care settings.
This course supports progression to employment The course will provide employers with reliable evidence of students' attainment against occupational standard knowledge, skills and behaviours (KSBs) which form the minimum requirements for entry into the occupation. The content of this qualification aligns with the Knowledge Skills and Behaviours required for the Lead Adult Care Worker occupational standard.
The course is recognised by universities supporting progression to Degree studies Nursing, Social work in preparing for different roles in the Health and Social care sector.

Work placement forms an important aspect of the course to support you to develop practical skills. You will need to have a clear enhance DBS check to be able to be complete work placement. Work placement may be completed at a range of settings to include residential or nursing homes, domiciliary care, day centres, some clinical healthcare settings, community settings, children's home, supported housing/living or homeless shelter

Entry Requirements
At least 4 GCSEs at grades 9-4, including English, a relevant Level 2 qualification (Health and Social care or Science) with a merit or distinction.
Please note: You must have at least a pass at Grade 3 for GCSE Maths to be enrolled on this course.
You will require an enhanced DBS as work placement is a mandatory part of this course.

Assessment Method
Internal assessment through portfolio of evidence through written task, presentation, role play and practical sessions. All portfolio will be externally reviewed.
