  • About the Course

The course covers both health and care and childcare units and may include personal care, promoting healthy eating and living, the care needs of children, learning and creative activities, self-assessment and positive attitudes and behaviour at work. There will also be a work experience placement (subject to availability) and visits to care centres.

You do not need to have any previous qualifications in health or social care or childcare, but you should be able to give reasons for wanting to work in health and social care or with children. You should have a pass at ESOL Entry 3 or equivalent. You will be interviewed before you enrol on the course, and you will have a written assessment to establish your level of language skills. You will be required to complete a DBS check in order to attend your work placement when you enrol on the course.
