Last week, West Thames College proudly celebrated its 20th Annual Student Awards, an evening dedicated to recognising the outstanding achievements, dedication and resilience of our students. The awards celebrate excellence across a wide range of subject areas, acknowledging not only academic success but also personal growth, determination, creativity and positive contributions to college life.
The event brought together students, staff, families and industry partners to honour the incredible accomplishments of this year's award winners. As we mark two decades of celebrating student success, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to our two premium sponsors, K4 Group of Companies and St Mary's University, whose generous support helped make this milestone event possible.
Giving Back to the Next Generation
For K4 Group of Companies, supporting the Student Awards is deeply personal. Both the company's Chief Operating Officer and Event Manager, Tegan Adams, studied at West Thames College, making the partnership a meaningful opportunity to give back to the place where their own journeys began.
Tegan Adams, Event Manager at K4 Group of Companies, said:
"I've been with K4 Group of Companies since the very beginning in 2018, and both our COO and I studied here at West Thames College. This college means a lot to us because we wouldn't be where we are today without the support we received as students. That's why it's so important for us to be involved in events like the Student Awards - it's our opportunity to give something back.
"We're incredibly grateful for the success we've had as a company, and that's only been possible because of the support of our community. At K4, we started as an event space company, but we've grown and adapted over the years. Today we provide services across events, hospitality, facilities management, medical support, security, dog handling and training. Supporting the next generation of students is something we're passionate about, and we're proud to be able to celebrate their achievements and show our appreciation."
K4 Group of Companies sponsored the Computing and ICT Award and the Logistics Award, recognising students who have excelled in career-focused disciplines and demonstrated outstanding potential within their chosen industries. Congratulations to Haris Yaqubi, winner of the Computing and ICT Award, and Aamar Arif, winner of the Logistics Award.
Supporting Creative Futures
West Thames College is also grateful to St Mary's University for its continued partnership and commitment to helping students progress into higher education and successful careers.
Mark Griffin, Associate Head of Partnerships - Arts and Education at St Mary's University, said:
"At St Mary's University, our mission is to nurture young creatives and provide them with the best possible platform to make an impact in the industry and go on to lead fulfilling, successful careers. That's why it's so important for us to work closely with partner institutions like West Thames College, as well as other feeder colleges and schools, who share our commitment to developing creative talent and supporting students as they take the next step in their journey."
As part of their support for this year's Student Awards, St Mary's University proudly sponsored three awards recognising student achievement, perseverance and contribution to college life. Congratulations to Jervonn Simmon, winner of the Performing Arts Award, Artem Melnyk, winner of the 14-16 Award, Rosie Nikzad, who received the ESOL Threshold Award, and the West Thames College Basketball Team, winners of the Student Experience Award (Group).
Thank You
The generosity and commitment of K4 Group of Companies and St Mary's University demonstrate the vital role that employer and education partnerships play in inspiring and supporting our students.
As we celebrate 20 years of the West Thames College Student Awards, we are proud to work alongside organisations that share our belief in recognising achievement, encouraging ambition and investing in the next generation. We extend our heartfelt thanks to both sponsors for helping make this year's celebration such a memorable success.
