West Thames College now offers Multiply courses which are FREE fully-funded programmes to help adults improve their confidence with numbers and brush up their maths skills.
If you’re aged 19+, live in London* and do not already have a GCSE at grade C (or equivalent) in maths, Multiply is available to you at no charge. Courses on offer:
Step-up to 1 Functional Skills Maths / Pre-GCSE Maths
Have you already achieved a Functional Skills Maths qualification at Entry 3 but you are not quite ready to apply for a Level 1 Functional Skills Maths course? This course is designed to prepare you for a Level 1 Functional Skills Maths Course. You will develop numeracy skills and build mathematical resilience. The course will equip you with knowledge of the following: Fractions, Percentages, Ratio and Probability.
If you already achieved a Level 1 Functional Skills Maths qualification but you are not quite ready to apply for a GCSE Maths course then this course is designed to prepare you for a GCSE Maths Course.
You will develop numeracy skills and build mathematical resilience. You will learn two modules- Number and Algebra which cover key mathematical concepts and techniques providing a direct pathway towards a GCSE Maths course.
Managing personal finances
Are you moving into your own home for the first time or struggling with the rising cost of living? You will learn how to manage your money and how to have more control over your finances. You will develop the skills, knowledge and attitudes you need to manage your money. You learn how to make a budget, monitor your bank account and cut back on your spending.
Unlock your potential: Maths for promotion
Are you looking to obtain a promotion or change a job? This course will equip you with the mathematical knowledge and the analytical thinking skills that employers are looking for. You will build your knowledge of basic statistics, probability, and data analysis. You will also learn how use Excel to store, organise, and track data sets with formulas and functions.
Supporting learning at home
Do you want to help your child when they're stuck on their Maths homework? This course is design for adults who wish to become more involved in their children learning and to support their children's mathematical progression.
