Hounslow Council is inviting local young people to attend a free Apprenticeship and Jobs Fair as part of National Apprenticeship Week on Tuesday 10 February at Hounslow House. The event will showcase a variety of exciting opportunities across apprenticeships, training, volunteering and more — and West Thames College is proud to be among the featured organisations attending.
The fair runs in two sessions:
- 10am–12pm: For Year 10–13 students from local schools and West Thames College.
- 1pm–3pm: Open to all young people aged 16 and over seeking employment or further training, including those with SEND and care experience. Families and carers are also welcome.
Alongside West Thames College, employers and training providers attending include West London NHS Trust, The King’s Trust, National Physical Laboratory (NPL), NatWest and Cisco. Representatives will be on hand to answer questions and share information about pathways into careers and study.
Councillor Samia Chaudhary, Cabinet Member for Education, Children, Skills and Employment at Hounslow Council, said:
“Young people can benefit enormously from apprenticeships where they can gain real work experience while studying for qualifications ranging from foundation to degree level… Our Youth Skills and Employment Guarantee (YSEG) programme… has supported about 4,000 young people to overcome challenges in accessing and progressing in skills, training and employment. We’re committed to unlocking their full potential and empowering them to thrive.”
Whether you’re exploring your next steps after college, interested in apprenticeships, or keen to build your work experience, this event is a great opportunity to connect with employers and training providers — and get support with applications.
